Event details

25 June  -28 June

The third edition of Festival Transmissions, dedicated to musical documentaries, will be celebrated for the first time in Madrid this month at the Cineteca de Matedero. The event is being held in Madrid from 25 till 28 June and the following week in Barcelona. This annual festival combines the projection of short and feature-length musical documentaries, masterclasses with industry boffs, concerts, DJs, the chance to network with people in the biz as well as some general night-time shenanigans. There's a nominal charge of €3 for most screenings but on 25 June it's €3 for three screenings. There's a free screening on 28 June of a documentary entitled What Difference Does it Make (from Red Bull Music Academy) about musical creation and featuring among others, Debbie Harry, Brian Eno, Nile Rogers and Erykah Badu. There's also a documentary from Dunstan Bruce (Men in a Suitcase, Chumbawamba), about long-haul British crusty-folk-rock group, The Levellers, narrated by Jeremy Cunningham, their bassist.

Festival Transmissions, Matadero de Madrid, Paseo de la Chopera, 10 ,28045 Madrid. Metro: Legazpi. Normal admission €3. 25-28 June.
