User Profiles

It's been a month of tweaks. Finally getting round to some meat and potatoes. User profiles actually don't work at all at the moment. The idea is that you will be able to hook up with like-minded folk, should you wish to do so. For some reason profiles are disconnected from their users. So we are working on fixing this right now.

We've been working on tidying up our front page video section so that you can see both the latest videos plus a list of articles which have video content.

Fixing layout issues and working on redesign of "what to see and do" section

Today we're working on cleaning up some display issues in IE, Chrome and Safari where there was a misplaced horizontal line on the page. Also fixing photo credits which were displaying beside the photo, instead of under it.

Next we are moving on to a complete re-design of the what-to-see-and-do section, and breaking it into categories such as

Siteseeing
Adventure and outdoors
Museums
Culture and spectacles

Contact form whipped into shape

To my horror I discovered that the site contact form has been doing nothing at all. You filled in your details and your message, pressed send and it redirected you to the front page without even a "boo" or "thank you". And we weren't receiving anything at our end. So we took the hood off today and it is now working correctly, and displaying a nice "Thank you for writing to us" message after you submit.

Also fixed up recently was our distribution list where you can see all our distribution points for the paper magazine on a nice map and list.

Lights, cameras.... Action!

Just flicked the switch to put the site online to the public for the first time, today (yesterday now) 27th July 2012, after several years of learning, pulling hair out, head scratching, shouting at computer, deconstructing and reconstructing. Went online about 15:30. Spent the rest of the day trying to get our classified ads system, which had fallen over in a fit of jealousy, back on its feet. Everything fixed up. Now it's time to take a break from development for a few days while we finish the August printed issue. Catch you soon.

Finishing up Blog area

Today we're working on finishing up our blog area so that we can upload a custom avatar (user picture) and author name. This will mean you can have a pen-name and pen picture for your blog. If you are interested in having a blog at inmadrid.com then just drop us a line.
